Since most of us want to stay younger and HGH is a way to increase energy levels, it just makes sense to find the human growth hormone supplement that works best for you, and then to make it a daily part of your life. You can find HGH dietary supplements in the form of pills, capsules, powder and even a spray. Take time to do a bit of research on the HGH products at http:www.hgh-supplements.co.ukYou can buy HGH supplements that will fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. This wasn't always the case. The "human growth hormone" was fist discovered in the 1950s. It's a protein compound manufactured in the pituitary gland and researchers were quickly at odds over what the role of this particular protein was. Two decades would pass before that question began to be answered. The protein, as researchers discovered, was the reason some children grew and physically developed at a normal rate while others remained smaller or grew larger. It was later discovered that the HGH protein also played roles in boosting energy levels and slowing the aging process. When the idea to supplement the body's natural production of human growth hormone first came to be, the only method for processing was to extract the protein from human cadavers, process it, then inject it to the recipient. It would be several years before a supplement was created to be widely available in tablet, spray or powder form. There are several things to consider as you're choosing HGH dietary supplements. The form is obviously one of the most important. If you're the kind of person who simply hates to take a pill - any pill - you'll likely want to look at the other options. You can choose a human growth hormone supplement in powder form. Simply add it to your morning orange juice and you're ready to face the day. For those who prefer to simply take a pill and be done with it, that's certainly an option.Another important factor in choosing your source of HGH dietary supplements is the manufacturer. Like all products of this type, look for a company with a good reputation who is willing to stand behind their products. While price is important, quality is more so. A reputable company will provide excellent product descriptions along with proven benefits and potential side effects. If you have doubts about the HGH products listed on a particular website, move on.Choosing quality HGH supplements could be just the boost you need to make you feel, act and look younger.

Do You Need to Supplement Your Cat's Diet with Vitamins and Minerals?

Do You Need to Supplement Your Cat

Despite obvious physiology differences, your cat is not that different from you. Just as humans, cats require vitamins and minerals to survive. Whether or not you need to supplement your cat's diets with vitamins depends largely on their diet and current health status. The vitamins that cats need include both fat soluble and water-soluble vitamins. These vitamins are essential to a cat's growth and for the efficient processing of fats in the body. These vitamins ensure that a cat's bones are healthy and that they have sufficient protection from disease. Cats are prone to cuts and vitamins can help to repair wounds quickly. Fat-soluble vitamins are vitamins E, D, A, and K. The water-soluble vitamins include the B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, and B12) and vitamin C.Vitamins are easily absorbed in a cat's system. Minerals, on the other hand, require that the cat's system is healthy for proper absorption. Any slight infection can affect a cat's ability to absorb minerals. The minerals that cats require the most include calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium chloride. The good news about foods for animals is that they are formulated to meet all the nutritional needs of the animal. Feeding your cat food is typically all that is necessary for them to obtain all the nutrients they need. However, there are some things that can affect the amount of nutrients in cat food. For starters, cat food can lose some of its nutritional value. This often happens if the food is kept on a store shelf for a significant amount of time. If a stray cat has made its way to your doorstep, the condition of the cat may warrant the need for vitamin and mineral supplementation. Stray cats, especially abandoned kittens are susceptible to infections and diseases. The first step you should make when attempting to care for a stray cat is to have a veterinarian inspect the cat for diseases. The veterinarian will give you instructions for caring for the stray cat, including vitamin and mineral supplementation. You should follow the instructions given to you. An excessive amount of a particular vitamin or mineral can cause a toxic reaction in a cat that could be fatal. Why not check out our nutrition guide at http://www.nutritional-supplement-guides.com/nut-ebook.htmland also what supplement we personally use for our nutrition needs at http://www.nutritional-supplement-guides.com/what-we-use.html

Improve Your Mood with 5-HTP Supplements

Improve Your Mood with 5-HTP Supplements

What is 5-HTP?The Griffonia Extract is rich in 5-HydroxyTryptophan (5-HTP), which comes from an African vegetable, the Griffonia simplicifolia seed, and contains 30% 5HTP. 5-HTP is an amino acid that is a direct precursor of serotonin, an important neurotransmitter having pain soothing and relaxing effects. 5-HTP is not present in significant amounts in a typical diet. The human body manufactures 5-HTP from L-tryptophan, a natural "amino acid" found in most dietary proteins. However, eating food that contains L-tryptophan does not significantly increase 5-HTP levels.5-HTP and Serotonin5-HTP is the precursor to serotonin. It improves mood, anxiety and is beneficial in weight loss. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid that is the intermediate step between tryptophan and the important brain chemical serotonin. There is a massive amount of evidence that suggests that low serotonin levels are a common consequence of modern living. The lifestyle and dietary practices of many people living in this stress-filled era results in lowered levels of serotonin within the brain.5-HTP and Carb CravingsResearchers believe that inadequate serotonin levels are in part responsible for the desire to overeat. Not surprisingly, obese individuals who crave carbohydrates usually show abnormally low levels of serotonin. Taking a 5-HTP supplement half an hour before a meal can " turn off" cravings and hunger pangs by feeding the brains carbohydrate satiety center. In this way 5-HTP can be a great asset as part of a weight-loss regime.5-HTP and AddictionThe use of many addictive substances, such as tobacco, alcohol, caffeine and certain narcotics, elevates serotonin levels. When these substances are eliminated, serotonin levels drop drastically, causing anxiety and cravings. Taking 5-HTP can stabilize serotonin levels and help minimize the symptoms of withdrawal.5-HTP and PMSPMS sufferers report pain relief, as well as decreased irritability and mood swings from using 5-HTP. The supplement works by countering the hormone-induced decrease in serotonin levels that occur naturally during menstruation.5-HTP and SleepBecause of its calming effect, many rely on 5-HTP to alleviate stress-attacks, as well as to encourage restful sleep. Unlike sedative drugs, 5-HTP is not associated with unwanted side effects, such as disturbed sleep patterns or grogginess. It can be taken regularly one hour before retiring as a remedy for insomnia.Side EffectsVery high intakes of 5-HTP have caused muscle jerks in guinea pigs and both muscle jerks and diarrhea in mice. Injected 5-HTP has also caused kidney damage in rats. To date, these problems have not been reported in humans. Serotonin syndrome, a serious but uncommon condition caused by excessive amounts of serotonin, has not been reported to result from supplementation with 5-HTP; in theory it could be triggered by the supplement. However, the level of intake at which this toxic effect might potentially occur remains unknown.Warnings5-HTP should not be taken with antidepressants, weight-control drugs, other serotonin-modifying agents, or substances known to cause liver damage, because in these cases 5-HTP may have excessive effects. People with liver disease may not be able to regulate 5-HTP adequately and those suffering from autoimmune diseases such as scleroderma may be more sensitive than others, to 5-HTP. These people should not take 5-HTP without consulting a knowledgeable healthcare professional. The safety of taking 5-HTP during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not known at this time.Conditions with low serotonin levels helped by 5-HTP: Depression Obesity Carbohydrate craving Bulimia Insomnia Narcolepsy Sleep apnea Migraine headaches Tension headaches Chronic daily headaches Premenstrual syndrome Fibromyalgia

Wheres the Beef? Is there Really a Foodless Food Syndrome?

My all-time favorite TV commercial was that old Wendy's ad. The setting is The Home of the Big Bun; the customer reminds us of Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies. As Granny opens the lid of an over-sized hamburger bun, she discovers an unsettling surprise... a teensy-weensy, itty-bitty patty of beef. Mad as a hornet with P.M.S., she cackles the now-famous slogan: "Where's the Beef?""Where's the Beef?" soon became a catchphrase in the arena of verbal combat. I still chuckle whenever I think back to an infamous moment during the 1984 presidential primaries. Walter Mondale separated himself from underdog Colorado Senator Gary Hart with a little humor. Mondale borrowed the phrase "Where's the Beef?" to criticize Harts lack of depth in policy statements. Everyone knew exactly what he meant. Those three powerful words cut swiftly and poignantly to the proverbial chase! Suddenly, Harts pompous pontifications were stripped of their aurora of omniscient omnipotence and simultaneously exposed as frivolous fluff. Reminiscent of the scene from The Wizard of Oz, the curtains parted and the spotlight shifted to an emperor who had no clothes.Okay, so Mondale didn't beat Reagan. But that's another story. My point is (and I do have one), although our supermarket shelves are stocked with a wide array of fancy foodstuffs in pretty packages, and even though your gleeful kiddies may make you feel like parent-of-the-month as you reward their consumption of Happy Meals with cool cartoon figurines, remember: All that glitters ain't gold! Unless consumers become vigilantly alert, the food industry will continue to crank out an endless entourage of pre-packaged, foodless foods. Does A Foodless Food Syndrome Really Exist? My guess is, most people aren't fully persuaded that a "foodless food" syndrome really exists. Or if this so-called syndrome does exist, it can't possibly be all that serious, right? Granted, many people continuously feel sick and tired, but that's natural, right? Though many people are sick and tired, most are simply not sick and tired of being sick and tired.Furthermore, we fail to connect the dots. Sure, we've heard the reports. But Sixty percent of Americans are overweight! is no longer a newsflash. Complacent to reality, we tempt fate and continue to Super-size our fries. Sure, seventeen million Americans suffer from diabetes, but another gulp of soda pop couldn't hurt. And so what if over 40 percent of the US population will die of a heart attack? I'm not giving up my cholesterol-rich diet. Forget about the fact that there is now irrefutable evidence that high cholesterol levels are associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease. Forget about the fact that there is a direct relationship established between high cholesterol levels and high rates of heart attacks. Surely it's just a coincidence that the high US death toll from heart failure corresponds with the high cholesterol level in The United States. On the flip side of the coin, is it just a coincident that populations with much lower cholesterol levels also have much lower "death toll" s? Consider rural China, where the average cholesterol level is almost half that of the American cholesterol level. Less than five percent of their population dies from "heart attacks" . Hmm. Forty percent verses five percent is a HUMONGOUS difference, dont you think? Oh well, maybe that too is just a coincidence. And so what if The World Health Organization tells us yet another time that cancer is a leading cause of death? Who cares if an estimated 7.6 million people died of cancer in 2005? Its no longer shocking to learn that 84 million people will die in the next 10 years if action is not taken. Besides, what, in bloody blazes, does all this have to do with poor nutrition? Everything. Numerous experts echo the alarm of the American Cancer Society, "Eating right, being active, and maintaining a healthy weight are important ways to reduce your risk of cancer - as well as heart disease and diabetes."The Problem with Processed FoodSo why am I picking on the processed food industry? Here's the problem in a nutshell.First, we produce way more food than what is necessary for our consumption, which creates a surplus. So this surplus food needs to be highly refined and processed, otherwise it will spoil. During this process, essential vitamins and minerals are annihilated. The result is, foodless foods are being produced in massive quantities. These food products retain most of their calories, but they have little, if any, nutritional value. These foodless foods do not nutritionally support your body properly to allow for the normal repair and growth of your tissues and cells. In fact, refined foods are so depleted that the government has laws which require artificial vitamins and minerals to be added in order to meet minimum standards. The very reason why foods are labeled "enriched" or "fortified" is because their natural nutrients have been robbed! As a consequence, over sixty percent of the typical American diet consists of refined foods and snacks. The Importance of A Healthy Diet and Diet SupplementationSo what's the solution? The first step is to eat a healthy diet consisting largely of raw fruits and vegetables, preferably organic. Avoid refined sugar and processed bread. Instead, substitute natural sweeteners like honey. Also, eat whole-grain bread. But lets face it were not living in the Garden of Eden. Life is a rat race and were in the fast lane. It can be cumbersome with our fast-paced lifestyles to get all the essential vitamins and minerals we need by relying on our diets alone. That's why it is critically important to supplement your diet with a great high-quality All-Natural Multi-Vitamin made from Whole-Food sources. Unlike cheap synthetics, Whole-Food Vitamins are the greatest in the world when it comes to nutritionally supporting your body. Plus, they are much better utilized and absorbed by your bodys individual cells. Are Prenatal Vitamins Really Necessary?

One of the first things that happens when a woman visits a doctor either in a visit to discuss becoming pregnant or the first visit after becoming pregnant is that she will receive a prescription for prenatal vitamins. It is such a common occurrence that most women don't give it a second thought. Vitamin supplementation is generally a debatable topic, but medical doctors agree that it is imperative for women who are pregnant. Consider the last time you had a nasty cold, for example. It is probably the case that your doctor did not prescribe that you take high doses of vitamin C as a treatment method. Quite often, doctors are reluctant to prescribe vitamins for any health condition. So, why is it that they don't hesitate to prescribe prenatal vitamins? Quite simply, pregnancy means that a woman has to consume enough nutrients for two lives (more if multiple births are expected). If people in general don't consume sufficient vitamins, it only makes sense that women would have a huge deficit of nutrients if they were to become pregnant. Not all prenatal vitamins are the same. While a woman will need sufficient amounts of all essential vitamins and minerals, the most important to a baby are folic acid and calcium. Folic acid is a B vitamin that is essential to prevent birth defects, especially those of the spinal cord and brain. A pregnant woman needs extra calcium so that the baby's teeth and bones can grow healthy and strong. The additional supply of calcium prevents the baby from the baby having to draw calcium from the mother's bone.Of course, every woman has different needs. If you are a vegetarian, have a low tolerance for certain foods, or are on a restricted diet for health reasons, prenatal vitamins can provide you and your baby the nutrients you need that would otherwise not obtain. The exact vitamins you need is a determination that your doctor will make. Some women neglect to take prenatal vitamins and attempt to use a multivitamin instead. This is not a good idea since multivitamins rarely contain the additional nutrients that a woman needs when she is pregnant. Why not check out our nutrition guide at http://www.nutritional-supplement-guides.com/nut-ebook.htmland also what supplement we personally use for our nutrition needs at http://www.nutritional-supplement-guides.com/what-we-use.html
